(Ceremony Honoring This Great Local Athlete, Coach, Organizer and Entrepreneur)
The Friends of Cole’s Woods (FOCW) announces the official unveiling of the stone monument and plaque honoring Tom Jacobs. The public ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Four Corners Junction in Cole’s Woods. Since Tom was so instrumental in the development of the Cole’s Woods trails, FOCW had this monument sited at the system’s main intersection.
Local dignitaries, friends, sports enthusiasts, coaches, etc. are expected to attend in addition to the Jacobs Family. The plaque is inscribed with a summary of Tom’s life and importance to our local communities.
FOCW is honored to memorialize Tom with this monument, and we would like to thank those who helped us with this project: Chippewa Stone of Whitehall, for donating the stone; and Lou Blondin of Adirondack Stone Works in Glens Falls, for creating and installing the monument. We would also like to thank the City of Glens Falls’ Common Council and Recreation Department for allowing us to erect this monument in Cole’s Woods.
Our communities dearly miss Tom and we are sure this monument will keep his memory and vision alive.
